You should have a headline for the newspaper article you are about to write. In your pair you will either write an article based on a nursery rhyme (Humpty Dumpty or Little Bo Peep) or write an article about the Mars 1 project.
Some of you started the article by writing the first paragraph. For homelearning, you need to finish the first paragraph so that it includes WHAT happened and WHO was involved.
Those who have done this already need to extend with a further paragraph on WHEN and WHERE the event took place.
Sentences MUST be clearly punctuated; people read the news to be informed so information should be clear and easy to find.
Paragraphs SHOULD be written in third person and clearly outline the facts of the story (if you need to make up details, they still need to be presented as fact).
Paragraphs COULD use subordinate clauses to set the story in its context eg At nine o’clock on Friday, Humpty Dumpty fell from a wall and smashed.
