The wall street crash relates to mice and men by having huge effects on the American citizens, which increased unemployment. This ment a lack of jobs, with a great demand for them.
The Wall Street Crash caused a Great Depression, this was the time in which the book Of Mice and Men is set.
The lack of money made them all want to live a care free life . (the american dream)
There was two main characters Lenny and George who looked out for each other. They didn’t have much before the Wall Street Crash, but in the end did’t care about getting it back.

The wall street crash and the great depression are related to of mice and men because they were all around at the same time.
Lenny and George are like others because they both have nothing and have to start from scratch and build themselves back up. Despite Lenny’s disability, he tries to get on with his life and tries to get back on his feet. He is very lucky due to the support given by George. Like most American citizens, Lenny and George desired a life of freedom and liberty which was famously known as the American dream.

In America in the 1930s the great depression caused by the wall street crash meant that work was very hard to come by and if you found a job you would be paid minimum and this relates to the book because they are trying to get to their job.

Poor and oppressed people the world over were attracted to America from the time of its discovery. Conditions were hard for the early settlers, but ‘The American Dream’ was of freedom, independence and owning one’s own land. The dream was a real possibility while there was still a ‘frontier’ of unclaimed land, but by 1900 there was no unsettled land in America, and in reality the dream was over. It still survived in the popular imagination and in literature at least until the late 1920s. By then America had built its own aristocracy on the basis of wealth and its own system of repression based on race. The final blow was dealt by the Wall Street Crash, when the value of shares on the stock market fell dramatically. This marked the start of the Great Depression that swept the world in the 1930s. Farming was as badly affected as any other area of the economy. Decay there was sped up because ignorance and over-farming had resulted in hundreds of thousands of acres of farmland drying up, losing precious top soil and being turned into the famous ‘dust bowl’. Poor crops meant that many farmers were unable to repay the loans they had taken out to buy their land.

during the 1930s In the United States of America the great depression was caused by the Wall Street Crash and when this happenend it meant that if you wanted to work it would be very hard to get and keep up with and if you did keep up with this job, you would only get payed minimum wage and this could relate to the book becasue George and Lennie are trying to find a job, but arent keeping up with it and are having a hard time trying to get one.
Of Mice and Men also relates to the American Dream becuase during the American Dream everyone wanted to succed in life and get a good job and In the book George wants to get a good job with good pay and have a good life.

The American dream proposed that success was in everyone’s grasp.

Gorge and lennie where like everyone else beause they had to start from scatch and work as hard as they could so they could mend what has been taken away from them.
