Your home learning task follows on from today’s lesson and asks you to use metaphors in the style of Simon Armitage. The task is simply this: Using metaphors, describe your own body.
You may either write your description as a poem or a piece of prose; you might want to sketch a picture of a human body (or even use a photograph of yourself!) and label it with metaphors. I look forward to seeing the results!
A creative thinker working at:
- Grade E will provide a description containing five metaphors, some of which will be relevant to a description of your body.
- Grade D will use more than seven metaphors and these will ‘fit’ the part of the body being described.
- Grade C will use a wide range of metaphors that cleverly help the description and will rhyme or link with the other metaphors in some way.
Deadline: Monday 5 February, please.
