Mrs Robinson’s 11Y/En1 home learing – due Friday

Your home learning task it to explore the poets’ voice.

Whose voices do we hear in the other four poems (Lamentations,   Exposure, The Drum and O What is that Sound)? Who might the intended reader be in each case? Write a paragraph explaining the voice and reader for each poem (one each).

I you want any support with your home learning, please come and see me at lunch break.  I will be in room 14.

    Lamentations.
The the voice you hear in the poem is the ether a solder or the writers perspective of a solder in war investigating the voice of a moaning man who has lost all patriotic feeling.

    The Drum.
In this poem the voice you hear is one persons perspective on war and the sound of a drum that signals for people to be slaughtered not sacrificed so in the poem you can tell that he alone has already lost his patriotic feeling but still has to go to war.

    Invasion.
In the poem the voice you hear is ether a survivor of war or the fear of a man who has experienced the trembling fear of the enemy closing in.

(I did not find the 4th poem so I hope this is good for the home work)

the poet in lamentations has created a fictional character to perhaps express his experiences through giving the reader an insight into being subjected to becoming trubbled by the occurring events of the time.
